The blogging phenomenon has beamed a floodlight on a fact always known but seldom appreciated.
Everyone has a perspective.
There are approximately 6.5 billion people on the planet with 6.5 billion respective perspectives, and recently it seems like about 5.5 billion of them are blogging them.
And you can kind of see why. It’s like writing a Letter to the Editor where we are the Editor and we always get published, where no one can Garth George our opinions, and if they do it’s only for the seconds it takes us to remove their comments.
The thing that I quite like about this public explosion of opinions is that, when considered in its entirety, it makes us appreciate that however powerful ours may be in the sphere of our own head, we are but a mere degree in a spherical globe composing of 6.5 billion degrees.
The thing I like way less is that often we fail to balance our infinitesimal perspective with any of the other 6.5 billion and we become entranced by and confined to this one way of seeing things.
Like seeing the world through a tiny tube.
And completely missing that thing called wisdom. Wiki reckons wisdom is a deep understanding and realising of people, things, events or situations, resulting in the ability to choose or act to consistently produce the optimum results with a minimum of time and energy.
Or… taking into account many perspectives in order to think the right thing.
Unwise opinions are about as useful as teats on a bull.
Just something to keep in mind as you read this and other blogs – and/or write your own.
I’ve had several blogs but this is my worky one. So I shall attempt to be helpful. Free food for thought. Run my perspective by your own and see what filters through as nutritious. Feel free to discard the rest.
Enjoy.
